LEARN TO ENCOURAGE YOURSELF
By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi
The Bible in 1 Samuel 30:6 declared:
“But David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.”
This happened after the enemies invaded his domain, kidnapped his people and their wives, and burned the whole place down. It was a devastating story — enough to make anyone run mad and reject God. David wept until he had no strength left in him, but he eventually turned to God for a solution.
There will be seasons when the encouragement you expect from others may not come. Don’t allow such moments to weaken your confidence in God’s faithfulness.
David faced overwhelming distress, yet he found strength in the Lord.
You too can rise above discouragement by remembering God’s promises and recounting His past faithfulness.
Don’t surrender your joy to temporary circumstances. Strengthen yourself through prayer, declare God’s Word over your situation, and keep moving forward in faith.
Your present challenges do not cancel God’s promises. Remain courageous; the Lord is still at work in your life.
Prayer: Your word is my source of encouragement and I will never succumb to any form of defeat. I trust you to keep me strong and help me through the difficult times ahead in Jesus name.
