LET THE WORD OF GOD DWELL RICHLY IN YOU
By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi
God does not want His Word merely to pass through your ears; He wants it to dwell richly within your heart.
Something that dwells in you has found a permanent residence. It influences your thinking, shapes your decisions, governs your reactions, and directs your daily life.
So the Bible says: “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom.” — Colossians 3:16
This is an important dimension of spiritual growth. It is possible to hear many sermons and still allow fear, offense, pride, anxiety, or worldly thinking to dominate the heart. Transformation begins when God’s truth moves from information we have heard to convictions by which we live.
David said, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee” (Psalm 119:11).
When God’s Word dwells richly in you, it gives you something to stand upon when circumstances become difficult. When temptation speaks, the Word answers. When fear rises, the Word reminds you of God’s faithfulness. When confusion comes, the Word provides direction. When discouragement whispers that nothing will change, the Word restores hope.
Don’t merely visit the Scriptures occasionally. Make God’s Word your dwelling place.
Read it prayerfully. Meditate upon it continually. Believe it wholeheartedly. Speak it confidently. Obey it intentionally.
The Word you allow to dwell within you today will strengthen you for what you may encounter tomorrow.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, let Your Word dwell richly within me. Give me a genuine hunger for Scripture and open my understanding to Your truth. Let Your Word strengthen my faith, purify my heart, renew my mind, guide my decisions, and transform my character until Jesus is increasingly revealed through my life. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
