KEEP ADDING TO YOUR FAITH

Your salvation is precious, but God does not intend for your Christian life to remain at the starting point. He desires continuous spiritual development, growth and upward evolvement. The main question you want to ask yourself is, am I growing in my faith? Your faith can grow when it becomes a desire and you are also ready to take all the needed spiritual responsibilities.

Hear what the scripture says: “And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge. 2 Peter 1:5 (KJV)

Peter tells believers to give diligence to their growth. Faith is foundational, but we are instructed to add virtue, knowledge, self-control, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love.

This means spiritual maturity requires cooperation with the grace of God.

Ask yourself: What am I adding to my faith?

Are you more patient today than you were before? Are you growing in your understanding of Scripture? Are you developing greater self-control? Are you becoming easier to correct? Are you loving difficult people better? Are your decisions becoming increasingly influenced by God’s Word?

Spiritual growth may sometimes appear slow, but every act of obedience matters.

2 Peter 3:18 says, “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”

Don’t compare your spiritual journey with someone else’s. Your responsibility is to remain surrendered to Christ and continually allow the Holy Spirit to develop you and work on you daily.

Yesterday’s spiritual level does not have to become today’s permanent address.

Keep adding. Keep learning. Keep changing. Keep becoming more like Jesus.

Prayer: Father, give me grace to add to my faith virtue, knowledge, self-control, patience, godliness, kindness, and love. Deliver me from spiritual complacency and every attitude that resists growth in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
