SACRIFICING ALL FOR JESUS

By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi

Reading through the scriptures we saw Apostle Paul saying:

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Phil. 1:21 and in another place he said: To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. And this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you. 1 Corinthians 9:22-23 KJV

Beloved, following Jesus is not a call to comfort but to sacrifice. The Christian life is not centered on bread and butter; it is centered on the cross. Jesus willingly gave His life so that humanity could receive salvation. If we truly claim to be His disciples, we must also embrace a life of self-denial, obedience, and sacrificial service.

Many believers desire the blessings of Christ but shy away from the sacrifices that advance His kingdom. We cannot remain hidden in luxury and convenience while souls around us are perishing. Our lives should reflect Christ’s passion for redemption, shining His light through our love, service, generosity, and commitment to the gospel.

“Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.’” — Matthew 16:24 (NIV)

Following Jesus will cost you something, but the eternal reward is far greater than any earthly comfort you could ever lose.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, give me the grace to follow You wholeheartedly. Help me to live sacrificially, deny myself daily, and become a light that leads others to Your saving grace. May my life reflect Your love and Your mission until You return. Amen.
