RESTING IN GOD’S CARE

By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi

The responsibilities and challenges of life can coke overwhelmingly and difficult to tackle in some situations. In those moments, it is easy to keep holding on, trying to manage everything in our own strength. Yet God offers a better way—an invitation to release what we were never meant to carry by ourselves.

“Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.” — Psalms 55:22 (KJV)

This scripture reminds us that we are not called to bear every burden alone. Instead, we are invited to cast our burdens upon the Lord. To cast means to release, to throw off, to let go intentionally. It is a decision of faith to place our concerns into God’s hands rather than gripping them tightly in fear.

God does not simply take our burdens and leave us empty—He sustains us. That means He supports, strengthens, and upholds us in the very areas where we feel weak. His care is not distant or temporary; it is personal and constant. What weighs you down does not overwhelm Him.

Sometimes the struggle is not that God is unwilling to help, but that we hesitate to let go. We carry things longer than we should, thinking we must figure it all out on our own. But true rest comes when we trust God enough to release what burdens us and rely on His strength instead of our own.

Today, whatever is weighing on your heart, choose to give it to God. He is able to carry it, and He is faithful to sustain you. You do not have to live under the weight of it any longer.

Prayer: Father, thank You for caring about every burden I carry. Help me to release my worries and place them into Your hands. Teach me to trust You more and to rest in Your sustaining grace. Strengthen me where I feel weak and remind me that I am never alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
