FEAR NOT, THE LORD IS WITH YOU
By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi
As a child of God, it’s important for you to build courage in God for everything that lies ahead. There are seasons in life when the road ahead feels unfamiliar. New responsibilities, unexpected changes, and uncertain outcomes can stir fear in the heart. Even when we know God is leading us, stepping into what is next can still feel intimidating.
Here is God’s promise for you:
Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Joshua 1:9 (KJV)
Joshua understood that kind of moment. He was called to lead God’s people into a new chapter after the death of Moses—a task far greater than his own strength could carry. Yet God did not begin by giving Joshua a detailed explanation of everything ahead. Instead, He gave him a command and a promise: be strong, be courageous, and remember that I am with you.
That same truth speaks to us today. Courage is not the absence of fear; it is the decision to move forward with confidence in God’s presence. The strength we need for what lies ahead does not come from having all the answers, but from knowing the One who goes before us.
When God calls us forward, He does not send us alone. He walks with us into every unfamiliar place, every difficult assignment, and every uncertain season. His presence gives stability to the heart and courage to the spirit.
If you are facing something today that feels bigger than you, take hold of this promise: the Lord your God is with you. You do not have to fear what is ahead when the God who leads you also stays with you.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for being with me wherever I go. When I face uncertainty or fear, strengthen my heart and fill me with courage. Help me to trust Your presence more than my feelings and to walk forward in faith, knowing that You go before me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
