GROWING IN GRACE
By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi
One of God’s expectations over your life is growth. The Christian life is not meant to remain stagnant. From the moment we come to faith in Christ, God begins a lifelong work of growth within us. The apostle Peter reminds believers that we are called to grow in grace and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.
The Bible declares:
“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” — 2Peter 3:18 (KJV)
Spiritual growth is often gradual. Just as a plant grows quietly over time, our faith develops through consistent devotion, learning, and obedience. Each time we spend time in God’s Word, seek Him in prayer, or respond to His guidance, our relationship with Christ deepens.
Growing in grace also means becoming more aware of God’s mercy in our lives. As we mature spiritually, we recognize how much we depend on His grace each day. This understanding cultivates humility and gratitude, reminding us that our progress is not the result of our own strength but the transforming work of God within us.
The knowledge of Christ is not merely intellectual information; it is a personal, living relationship with the Savior. As we come to know Him more fully, our hearts become more aligned with His character, His love, and His purposes.
Spiritual growth may not always be dramatic, but it is always meaningful. Every step forward in faith reflects God’s ongoing work in our lives. As we continue walking with Christ, His grace shapes us into the people He calls us to be.
Prayer:
Father, strengthen my faith, guide my steps, and shape my heart to reflect Your love and truth in Jesus’ name, Amen.
