ENGAGING YOUR HEART IN SEEKING THE FATHER

By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi

One of the greatest invitations in Scripture is God’s call for His people to seek Him. Throughout the Bible, the Lord consistently promises that those who genuinely pursue Him will never search in vain.

His word says:

“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” — Jeremiah 29:13 (KJV)

In the days of Jeremiah, God spoke these words to His people during a difficult season of exile and uncertainty. Yet even in the midst of hardship, God assured them that His presence was still available to those who sought Him with sincerity.

Seeking God is more than a casual interest in spiritual things. It involves a wholehearted pursuit—an intentional desire to know Him, to listen for His voice, and to walk in His ways. When we give God our full attention and devotion, we begin to experience a deeper awareness of His presence and guidance.

Many people long for clarity, peace, and direction in life. These blessings are often discovered not by chasing answers alone, but by pursuing the One who holds every answer. When our hearts seek God first, everything else begins to fall into its proper place.

God’s promise remains true today: those who seek Him wholeheartedly will find Him. The journey of faith grows richer and more meaningful as we continually turn our hearts toward Him.

Prayer:

Father, help me to seek You with all my heart. Remove distractions that pull my attention away from You, and deepen my desire to know You more. Draw me closer to Your presence and guide my life according to Your truth. In Jesus’ name, amen.
