TEST THE SPIRITS
By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi
There has been a tremendous increase in knowledge and technological advancement in our world today. Information spreads rapidly across every platform, and the church is not left out of this wave. Many voices are rising, and as the Bible rightly says, “Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness.” Because of this, it is becoming increasingly difficult to identify those who are truly faithful to God.
In the midst of these realities, the Scriptures warn and encourage believers to test every spirit.
1 John 4:1 (KJV) declares:
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”
If you do not want to fall cheaply into error and deception, you must cultivate a closer walk with God and maintain an intimate relationship with Him. This is the only way to escape the lies and manipulations of the devil in this present age.
Now more than ever, we must crave the grace to discern spirits and walk circumspectly in wisdom. The enemy is spreading deception at an alarming rate, and many innocent hearts—even within the church—are being affected. Only those who genuinely know their God will remain strong, steadfast, and unshaken in times like these.
The question is: Are you among those who truly know their God?
Prayer: Father, deliver me from the lies and deception of the devil. Open my eyes to discern truth from falsehood. Grant me spiritual understanding to recognize the works of the flesh and the operations of false doctrines. Help me to walk in truth and discernment in Jesus’ name. Amen.
