THE LORD IS NEAR

By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi

The consciousness of God’s nearness is one of the greatest motivations for holy living. Our God is not far away, neither is He silent concerning the affairs of men. He is near to bless, near to judge, near to reward, and near to manifest Himself to those who diligently seek Him.

“The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.” – Psalm 145:18

When we understand that the Lord is near, we will not live carelessly. We will prepare our hearts daily and dedicate ourselves afresh to His service. The nearness of God is not a license for compromise; it is a call to consecration.

The early church lived with the awareness that Christ could return at any time. This consciousness made them fervent in prayers, steadfast in doctrine, and passionate in service. They did not toy with sin because they knew the Lord was near.

Holy living is not outdated. It is the proof of genuine expectation. Dedication to God is not extremism; it is wisdom. There is absolutely nothing to compare with a life separated unto God. Titles, achievements, applause, and earthly gains fade away—but a life of holiness and devotion to God carries eternal value.

Beloved, if the Lord is near, then:

• Let your heart be pure.

• Let your service be sincere.

• Let your commitment be unwavering.

• Let your devotion be total.

This is the season to get ready. Lay aside distractions. Renew your altar of prayer. Serve God with reverence and godly fear. The Lord is near—near enough to help you, near enough to lift you, and near enough to reward your faithfulness.

May your life be found ready, dedicated, and burning for Him in Jesus’ mighty name.

Prayer: Father, thank You because You are near. Purify my heart and help me to live holy. Strengthen me to serve You with full dedication and sincerity. Let my life be ready for Your appearing and useful for Your glory, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
