GOD ANSWERS BY MERCY
By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi
There’s a prayer style where we always ask God to answer by fire. This is an inspiration from the story of Elijah and the prophets of Baal in 1 Kings 18. Elijah challenges the prophets to a test to prove which God is real: Elijah and the prophets of Baal each prepare a sacrifice, and they call upon their respective gods to answer by fire. The prophets of Baal cry out and dance, but there’s no response. Elijah, on the other hand, prays a simple prayer, and God answers by sending fire that consumes the sacrifice, wood, stones, and even the water in the trench.
In Psalm 66:19-20, the Bible declares: But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.
God faithfully answers prayers for those who diligently seek him. The story of blind Bartimaeus in Mark 10:46-52 serves as a powerful illustration, as he passionately cried out for mercy and was subsequently healed of his blindness. When God’s mercy is poured out upon your life, you can rest assured that all things will work for your benefit. As a beneficiary of his grace and mercy, you can trust that he will attend to your requests, provided you consistently walk before him in faithfulness and truth. The Lord who responded to Elijah with fire and Bartimaeus with mercy remains our God, and he will answer your prayers, humiliating your enemies and those who seek to harm you.
Pray with me: Father, have mercy on me. Let my season of answered prayers come speedily. Deliver me from all my troubles in Jesus name.

Pastor Ayo I truly believe you
God can answer prayers in various ways, often through provision, protection, or by guiding individuals to take action. He may also provide answers that are not what was initially asked for, or He may choose to answer at His own perfect timing. Prayer can also lead to a deeper understanding of God’s will and a stronger relationship with Him.
May God help us in Jesus name.
