INTERCESSION WORKS.

By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi

It is not God’s intention for us to live in solitude. Instead, He has lovingly provided a network of individuals to offer support during challenging times and to share in our experiences of joy. The underlying principle of this divine movement is to illustrate God’s profound love for us and to underscore the vital role of mutual support in our lives. A clear indication of your love for your fellow brethren, friends, and family members is the fervor with which you intercede on their behalf, seeking God’s remarkable acts of healing, provision, salvation and deliverance in their situations. Conversely, if you are unwilling or unable to pray for a specific individual, it reveals the presence of unresolved issues, which is uncharacteristic of a genuine child of God.

Acts 12:5 AMP

So Peter was kept in prison, but fervent and persistent prayer for him was being made to God by the church.

God’s angel was dispatched to rescue Peter from prison, a direct response to the brethren’s fervent and persistent prayers. God is continually searching for a watchman to stand in the gap and intercede on behalf of His people. Abraham’s intercession benefited Lot, Paul consistently offered prayers for the churches he visited, the ancient prophets stood in the gap for the salvation and deliverance of God’s people, and the Holy Spirit remains our great intercessor. As you embark on a new year, what role will you play spiritually in supporting your friends and community? While some may not need financial assistance, they may benefit from your unwavering prayers of love. The time for action is now, and it is essential that you assume your responsibilities and work towards making a positive impact on lives for the Lord, knowing that your efforts will be rewarded in Jesus’ name.

Prayer Point: I am empowered by your grace to persist in prayer. Father, please enable me to play a vital role in your program and agenda for your people during these end times, in Jesus’ name.
