WATCH AND BE SOBER

By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi

The journey of every believer in Christ Jesus is governed by kingdom principles, instructions, and guidelines, which promote godliness, fruitful living, and ultimately lead to eternal life with God. If you are resolute in your commitment to following the Lord, you will come to understand that pleasing Him is not a challenging task. It only becomes difficult when you perceive and believe it to be so.

1 Thessalonians 5:6 KJV

Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

Sleeping on duty is a grave mistake that can erode one’s credibility and character. If you are spiritually stagnant at this critical stage in our journey, it is imperative that you reflect on your actions. It is essential to maintain a consistent commitment to spiritual activities and godly engagements that will propel you forward until we behold Jesus in glory. You cannot afford to be complacent at this critical juncture. It is imperative to seek the Lord with diligence. Remain sober, exercising self-control and avoiding spiritual laziness. The time is almost over, and we will soon witness the Lord’s return. Are you sufficiently prepared to meet Jesus at the end of this age? This is the moment to get ready, shed the old garments of unrighteousness, and be truly joined to the Lord. Your life and time on earth will be redeemed in Jesus’ name.

Reflections: Check the time and be sure you are still on the race. Keep up the good works and God will help you till the very end.
