RECHECKING BEFORE REJECTING

By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi

A fundamental principle of critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving is to think critically before rejecting. Impatience can lead to premature conclusions and assumptions. To avoid costly mistakes in pursuit of a greater and better life especially while building relationships, it is crucial to thoroughly think through processes and take necessary time for information verification to capitalize on genuine opportunities and blessings.

Luke 24:9,11 NIV

When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others. [11] But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense.

You may be astonished to discover that the Apostles of Jesus Christ, with whom He spent over three years, initially rejected the accounts of His resurrection. It all seemed like nonsense to them until Peter took the initiative and ran to Jesus’ tomb to confirm again. How many blessings and opportunities for growth have you dismissed as nonsense and, in doing so, missed out on something significant? By reconfirming information, you showcase a devotion to precision, ethics, and reliability. Avoid making unwarranted assumptions about individuals. Steer clear of being judgmental in your approach to life. Avoid partnerships grounded in half-truths, and instead, apply your faith through critical thinking to all aspects of life, taking the necessary actions to make the most of every situation. You will not lose your blessings in Jesus name.

Pray with me: O Lord my God, liberate me from the spirit of impatience. Assist me in walking by faith, rather than by sight. Sustain me with the truth and make my life a blessing, in Jesus’ name.
