DEVELOP A TEACHABLE SPIRIT

By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi

One of the greatest enemies of personal and spiritual development is the assumption that you already know enough. This stature and self-affirmation also stem from pride, an egoistic mindset and overestimation of oneself.  Pride says “I don’t need correction”. Ego says “My way is the best way”. Overestimation says “I’ve arrived”

But the Bible says:

“Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.” — Proverbs 9:9 KJV

Beloved, never become too important to receive correction or too experienced to learn something new. God can use His Word, wise counsel, and even life’s difficult experiences to develop your character.

A teachable heart is an important foundation for continuous growth.

Today, listen attentively, accept constructive correction, and deliberately improve an area of your life that needs attention.

Remember, your willingness to learn today can prepare you for greater responsibilities tomorrow. Remain humble, keep growing, and become increasingly useful in God’s Kingdom. May the Lord give you understanding in Jesus’ name.

Prayer: Father, I want to know you more. I want to learn more from your words and gain wisdom from others. Please grant me a teachable spirit and help me against overestimation of myself in Jesus’ name.
