GO DEEPER BEFORE YOU TRY TO GO HIGHER
By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi
You must never underestimate the power of deep roots. Everyone celebrates visible growth, but God often begins with invisible roots.
The Bible declares:
“Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.” — Colossians 2:7 (KJV)
Before a tree can carry greater fruit, it needs stronger roots. Before God increases your influence, allow Him to increase your character. Before asking for greater responsibilities, develop greater spiritual capacity.
Before seeking a larger platform, strengthen your private relationship with Jesus.
Psalm 1:3 also says the person who delights in God’s Word will be like a tree planted by rivers of water, bringing forth fruit in season.
Your season of hidden development is not wasted.
Keep praying when nobody notices. Study the Scripture when nobody applauds. Keep serving faithfully in that local assembly where God has planted you. Don’t stop developing godly character and continue to obey God privately.
Deep roots eventually produce visible fruit and at the level, the Lord will announce you to your generation and make you a great blessing.
Don’t become discouraged because your growth is not yet visible to everyone. God does some of His greatest work beneath the surface. Keep developing your roots in prayer, Scripture, obedience, and intimacy with Christ. Go deeper with God, and when your season of greater fruitfulness arrives, you will have the spiritual strength to sustain it.
Today’s Declaration
I declare that my life is rooted and built up in Jesus Christ. I will not be spiritually unstable or easily moved by circumstances. My roots are going deeper in God’s Word, prayer, faith, obedience, holiness, love, and fellowship with the Holy Spirit. I shall remain steadfast through every season in Jesus’ name.
