EXCEPT BY PRAYER AND FASTING

By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi

The Word of the Lord is true and forever settled in heaven. If God has spoken it, don’t doubt it, because it will surely come to pass. The entire Bible is filled with testimonies of the fulfillment of God’s promises. Therefore, believe by faith and begin to act on every word of the Lord.

The Bible declares:

“And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out? And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.”  Mark 9:28–29 KJV

The Lord has spoken, and we must take His Word seriously. Prayer and fasting remain powerful spiritual disciplines in our walk with God. There are dimensions of divine empowerment and spiritual victory that require us to separate ourselves unto God and seek Him earnestly.

God visits, strengthens, and empowers His people when they dedicate themselves to seeking Him genuinely through prayer and fasting. Many believers desire great manifestations of God’s power but are unwilling to pay the price of fervent prayer. The disciples discovered that spiritual authority cannot be substituted with human ability.

Brace up in the faith and shun spiritual laziness. Don’t allow the few blessings you have already received to make you think you have arrived. There is always more in God! To experience His best and walk with Him consistently, you must remain committed to the place of prayer.

Get on your knees and pray! When you pray in faith, there is a God in heaven who hears and answers prayers.

Prayer: Father, strengthen me in the place of prayer and fasting. Empower me to fulfill the ministry and assignments You have committed into my hands. Let every spiritual weakness disappear, and please answer my prayers according to Your will, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
