INVESTING IN YOUR RELATIONSHIPS
By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi
Never underestimate the power of good relationships. There are people whose connection to your life and destiny will unlock support beyond what you can imagine. While it’s wise to be discerning about who you journey with, remember that your own commitment is what makes the relationship thrive.
The Bible puts it plainly:
“Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed.” Ecclesiastes 4:9 NLT
The heart of every healthy relationship is mutual success. For a connection to endure, it must be reciprocal. Parasitic relationships rarely last. Choose to be a positive contributor in every partnership you keep. Whether in friendship, business, or marriage, be the kind of person your partner can celebrate and emulate.
Scripture gives us a powerful model in David and Jonathan:
“The soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.” 1 Samuel 18:1 KJV
This was no casual bond. It was a covenant relationship built on selflessness and purpose.
So I urge you: nurture your relationships with genuine love, kindness, heartfelt prayer, sacrifice, encouragement, aligned purpose, loyalty, and protection. Refuse selfishness. Intentionally seek the best for one another. When these become your standard, you will build strong, fruitful relationships that others will aspire to follow.
If you find yourself in a wrong or toxic relationship, don’t stay stuck. Prayerfully and wisely plan your exit, seek godly counsel, and ask for divine direction for your journey.
Prayer: Father, lead me to the right partners for my life’s journey. Make me a fruitful contributor to the growth and success of every relationship You bring my way. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
