FAITHFULNESS IN SMALL THINGS
By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi
In a world that celebrates visible success and remarkable achievements, it is easy to overlook the importance of simple faithfulness. Yet Scripture reminds us that God does not measure our lives only by what is seen publicly but by how faithfully we handle what He places in our care.
Here’s what the Bible says:
“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”— 1 Corinthians 4:2 KJV
The Apostle Paul described believers as stewards—people entrusted with responsibilities that ultimately belong to God. A steward does not own the resources; he manages them on behalf of the one who entrusted them to him. Whether it is our time, abilities, opportunities, or influence, everything we have is a gift from the Lord.
What God requires above all is faithfulness. Faithfulness in small responsibilities prepares us for greater assignments. Many people desire significant opportunities but overlook the daily disciplines that build spiritual maturity. Yet the Lord often begins His work in quiet, unnoticed places where character is formed.
Every act of obedience matters. Every small responsibility carried out with integrity is seen by God. When we choose consistency in our walk with Him, we demonstrate that our hearts are trustworthy.
Do not underestimate the value of what seems small today. The God who sees your faithfulness will bring fruit from it in His perfect time.
Prayer: Father, thank You for entrusting me with the opportunities and responsibilities in my life. Help me remain faithful in both small and great things. Teach me to serve You with diligence and integrity, knowing that my life is ultimately in Your hands. In Jesus’ name, amen.
