THE POWER OF A PRAYING BELIEVER IN CHRIST JESUS

By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi

There is a special calling upon every believer in Christ, and that calling is intercession. God is actively seeking men and women who will stand in the gap so that He may save, heal, and restore as many lives as possible. Intercession is not optional—it is a divine responsibility entrusted to all who walk with God.

The Apostle Paul admonishes us:

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men.”

— 1 Timothy 2:1 (KJV)

Our Lord Jesus, in Matthew chapter six, taught His disciples how to pray and seek the face of the Father. He provided a divine pattern for approaching God concerning our needs and desires. Furthermore, in Luke chapter eighteen, Jesus encouraged us to pray always and not to faint. Prayer is our spiritual communication line with heaven. It is through prayer that we secure divine intervention—both in our daily walk and in times of urgent need.

As you seek God for breakthroughs, peace, success, joy, prosperity, and spiritual growth, you must take prayer and intercession seriously—not only for yourself but also for those in authority. We are called to pray for our nations and our lands, that peace may reign and righteousness may prevail. When we genuinely seek the face of the Lord, evil is confronted, and deliverance is released over our territories.

This is God’s counsel for us, and I pray you will fully engage in this spiritual exercise going forward. Study the Word daily and depend on the Holy Spirit for guidance as you pray. The Word of God strengthens you to pray according to His will. Let the Word dwell richly in you with all wisdom, and you will never miss divine direction or instruction.

Reflection:

How is your prayer life? Are you truly communicating with your Maker?

Start today, and your life will never remain the same.

Prayer works—by His Word.
