JOURNEYING INTO ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL YEAR
By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi
Say these words of Thanksgiving:
Father, we are grateful for the year that is passing. As the new year draws just minutes away, we return all the glory, honor, and praise to You alone.
The new year is coming with grace, glory and divine splendor. It’s a higher and bigger ground for every child of God. I want you to remember: every new height in life begins with a plan, but every lasting elevation is sustained by God. As believers, we are encouraged to think, dream, and plan with purpose; yet we must remember that human plans find their true strength only when surrendered to divine direction.
The Scripture declares: A man’s mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure. — Proverbs 16:9 AMPC
This verse reveals a powerful balance. God does not forbid planning; rather, He invites us to plan while depending fully on Him for guidance. Our minds may map the route, but only the Lord can order the steps that lead us safely into higher grounds. Without His direction, plans can become laborious and uncertain; with His guidance, even simple steps become sure and fruitful.
Stepping into new and higher grounds requires humility—the humility to submit our strategies, ambitions, and timelines to God. When we trust Him to direct our steps, He aligns our plans with His purpose, removes hidden pitfalls, and establishes us in places we could never reach by human strength alone.
As you plan for new seasons, new projects, and new victories, anchor your confidence in God. Let Him lead, and you will not only move forward—you will move upward, firmly planted on higher ground.
Prayer: Father, as I plan my ways, I submit every step to You. Direct my path, make my steps sure, and lead me into the higher grounds You have prepared for me. Amen.
