RECEIVING HIS WORD READILY AND STEADILY
By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi
The Word of the Lord is living, powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword. Yet, more importantly, what you do with the written and spoken Word will determine your outcome with God.
Hebrews 11:6 reminds us that “without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is.” You cannot truly follow an unknown God. Our God is alive, and His Word is powerful to heal, save, and deliver.
Speaking of the believers in Berea, the Bible says:
“These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so” (Acts 17:11 KJV).
Your faith in God through His Word must continually draw you closer to Him. Faith grows as you not only believe what He has spoken but also align yourself with His written Word. The Berean Christians set an example of diligence—they eagerly received the Word and carefully examined the Scriptures to confirm the truth.
In the same way, I encourage you today: be devoted to the truth in God’s Word. Let the Holy Spirit guide you into all truth, far away from lies and deception. Refuse fleshly manipulations and let the Lord alone be the reason you live, move, and have your being. As you receive His Word readily and live by it steadily, it shall be well with you in Jesus’ name.
Prayer: Father, I receive grace to prosper in Your Word and to grow in faith, knowing that You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. Amen.
