STRONG AND COURAGEOUS
By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi
Every new season of life requires courage. When Joshua stood at the threshold of leading Israel into the Promised Land, the responsibility before him was enormous. He was stepping into a role once held by Moses, and the future ahead was filled with unknown challenges.
Yet God did not begin by explaining every detail of the journey. Instead, He gave Joshua a command: Be strong and courageous.
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” — Joshua 1:9
This instruction reminds us that courage is not the absence of fear; it is the decision to trust God despite uncertainty. Many believers hesitate to step into new opportunities because they feel inadequate or unsure of what lies ahead. But God’s calling is always accompanied by His presence.
The Lord assured Joshua that wherever he went, God would be with him. That promise remains true for every believer today. The strength to move forward does not come from our own ability—it comes from the assurance that God walks with us.
When you face moments of uncertainty, remember that the same God who calls you forward also empowers you to continue. Your future is not dependent on your confidence alone but on the faithfulness of the One who leads you.
Do not allow fear to keep you from the path God has prepared. Step forward with courage, knowing that His presence goes before you.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the promise that You are with me wherever I go. When I feel uncertain about the future, strengthen my heart with courage and faith. Help me trust Your guidance and walk confidently in the path You have prepared for my life in Jesus’ name, Amen.
