ABIDE IN THE TRUE VINE

By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi

Not every place is yours. You must be weary of any location that will never produce the best of you. Relocating from one place to another without divine guidance and direction will eventually lead to colossal frustration. You are a child of God and Jesus is calling you to remain and be permanently settled in Him as the True Vine. This is your surest gateway to unending fruitfulness and productivity.

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” — John 15:5 (KJV)

Jesus is the Vine; we are the branches. The branch does not strain to produce fruit—it simply remains connected to the source of life.

Abiding is not a hurried activity. It is a settled posture of dependence. It is cultivated through prayer, nourished by Scripture, and sustained by obedience. When communion with Christ becomes the priority, fruitfulness becomes the byproduct.

Many frustrations in the Christian life stem from attempting to produce externally what can only flow internally. Effort without abiding leads to exhaustion. Service without communion leads to emptiness. But when you remain in Him, strength, wisdom, and grace flow naturally.

Today, do not focus first on what you must accomplish. Focus on where you must remain. Stay connected to the Vine. Fruit will follow.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, teach me to abide in You. Guard me from striving in my own strength and draw me into deeper communion with You. Let my life bear fruit that reflects Your life within me. In Your name, Amen.

  1. Thanks so much pastor Ayo!
To abide in true vine, we have to maintaining a continuous, dependent relationship with Him our Lord to bear spiritual fruit, as described in John 15.
May God help us in Jesus name.
