BE NOT WISE IN YOUR OWN EYES

By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi

The great counsel of the Lord for the 365 days of this new year is clearly contained in Proverbs 3:5–7, which declares:

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.”

I trust God that you will pay greater attention to the Word of the Lord above the news in your land, and far above the counsel of men and women in society. Above all, it is expedient that you think and act according to God’s will, being careful not to rely on your own wisdom, which is always finite.

God is the director of your life as a believer in Christ Jesus, and true success is only guaranteed when you allow Him to have His way. Human wisdom has its limits, but divine wisdom is perfect and unfailing.

The Scripture reminds us that the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God. He is the Beginning and the Ending. Therefore, do not be haughty or proud before Him; rather, humble yourself under His mighty hand, and He will lift you up in due season.

This is our year of Divine Elevation, and as the Lord has spoken it, you will never be small again, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
