YOU WILL NOT LABOR IN VAIN

By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi

The Psalmist gives a deep and insightful counsel to those who choose to depend on God for everything that pertains to life and godliness. He declares:

Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

— Psalm 127:1–2 (KJV)

One of the greatest truths about our God is this: He never sleeps, and He never slumbers. While you may fulfill your daily responsibilities, it is wise to find rest in Him and allow your body, soul, and spirit to be refreshed. God did not design you to chase life at the expense of your health, peace, or family.

If your trust is truly in God, you will depend on Him for daily direction, provision, and wisdom. It is vanity to pursue endeavors that lack His presence. It is unprofitable to run from place to place without divine support, guidance, and instruction.

Beloved, refuse to labor over what will never add value to your destiny. Let God be at the center of your plans, programs, and pursuits. When He leads, you will not labor in vain. When He guides, your journey will be prosperous. He has promised to give His beloved rest, and I pray that rest becomes your portion.

Prayer: Father, lead my journey throughout destiny and keep me far from vanity and loss. Instruct, guide, and establish me in great profits, supernatural rest, and unlimited increase. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

    Isaiah 65:23
New International Version: “They will not labor in vain, nor will they bear children doomed to misfortune; for they will be a people blessed by the LORD, they and their descendants with them”.
Meaning: This verse is a promise of restoration and blessing. It assures God’s people that their hard work will not be for another’s benefit, and their children will not suffer calamity.
