LIVING WITHOUT DEEP ROOTS?

By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi

In Jesus’ parable of the sower, some seeds fell on rocky ground. They sprang up quickly, but because they had no deep root, they soon withered away. This is the picture of many lives today — rising is not the challenge, lasting is. Blessings are not sustained by excitement, emotions, or outward appearances, but by deep spiritual roots in God.

“And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth… and because it had no root, it withered away.” Mark 4:5-6 (KJV)

Your greatest concern should not be how fast you rise, but how deeply you are planted. Where are you standing — on solid, spiritual foundation or on shaky soil? Pause and evaluate your journey. Settle your life where God’s Word can shape you, anchor you, and empower you.

Don’t be quick to seek elevation without preparation. True success in destiny requires depth — depth in the Word, depth in prayer, depth in obedience, and depth in righteousness. You carry a great destiny; do not allow shallow roots to cut it short through the heat of trials or the schemes of the enemy. As you stay rooted in Christ, you will flourish and bring forth lasting fruits.

I declare today: It is well with you in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Prayer: Father, plant me firmly in the center of Your will. Establish my life on the solid foundation of Your Word. Strengthen my roots in righteousness and divine grace. Help me grow, flourish, and bear enduring fruit, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
