CONTROLLED LIBERTY

Jesus brought us salvation and deliverance from the power and yoke of sin, freeing us from tons of laws and regulations that tied us down to endless slavery. But understand this: your freedom from sin and unrighteousness is never a ticket to live anyhow.

As Galatians 5:13 (KJV) says, “For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.”

The Lord our Savior didn’t free us to do whatever we want, because that would lead us back into slavery to our selfish desires. Every uncontrolled liberty is another bait unto slavery without knowing. Let your new life in Christ be guided by His words, and choose to operate through the leading of the Holy Spirit. The time of fleshly operations is over. A true disciple is known by discipline and adherence to every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.

Prayer: Father, let Your word guide and control my actions and lifestyle. Help me to live according to Your word in Jesus’ name.
