RAISING FUTURE GENERATIONS
By Pastor Ayo-Simeon Agbelusi
The technique of our Lord Jesus Christ in choosing twelve men for training and impartation may seem unconventional, but its impact on the world is undeniable. In Mark 3:13, Jesus called them to Himself, that they might be with Him and He might send them out. These men were raised and nurtured with the Beatitudes, becoming the light of the world, the salt of the earth, and a city set on a hill that cannot be hidden.
As Jesus said, “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men” (Matthew 5:13 KJV). This raises important questions: What are you doing with the people around you? What are you feeding them with? Are you preparing the next generation with the requisite knowledge, power, and wisdom to take over the kingdom assignment and make more disciples for the Lord?
Jesus set an example, and He expects us to follow in His steps. Starting from your household, raise the next generation of world shakers. Let us not raise crowds that will soon scatter, but people who will shine the light of the Gospel to this crooked and perverse generation.
Prayer: Father, make me a blessing to everyone around me. Let Your light continue to shine through me in Jesus’ mighty name.
Reflection: As we strive to raise future generations, let us remember that our influence can have a lasting impact on the world. May we be intentional about imparting God’s wisdom, knowledge, and power to those around us, that they may be equipped to fulfill their kingdom assignment and shine the light of the Gospel to a world in need.
